Kensington Renewal

Posted on November 8, 2011 by admin

Imagine a beautiful neighborhood with a big problem…but an even bigger opportunity!

The city of Philadelphia has more than 40,000 abandoned, vacant, blighted properties.  Many are in the Kensington section.  Once bustling with jobs and industry, this neighborhood has at times been the poorest neighborhood in the state of Pennsylvania.

Kensington Renewal seeks to change that, by rehabilitating blighted properties into owner occupied homes.  Doing so will change families lives and literally fight crime, as home ownership rates has a direct correlation to both violent and non-violent crime statistics.  We’ll be playing Batman & Robin, but with a paintbrush and new set of house keys 🙂

We’ll be sure to update you on the neighborhood through photos, videos and stories by acclaimed motion picture director (and neighbor) Jamie Moffett.

So sit back & enjoy, or better yet grab a paint brush and join us!  For info, drop us a note at: hello(at)kensingtonrenewal.com
